 Spring Serenade  May 16, 2010 at 3:00pm at the Elgin Community College Visual and Performing Arts Center

You are invited to join the Elgin Children’s Chorus on Sunday, May 16th as they present their finale concert of season, Spring Serenade, at 3:00pm at the Elgin Community College Visual and Performing Arts Center, 1700 Spartan Drive in Elgin. These young musicians will fill the Blizzard Theater with their fresh, joyful voices.
 
The Treble Choir under the direction of Lisa Bettcher, will perform “With a Banjo on My Knee” arranged by Linda Spevacek; “Shalom Chaverim,” an Hebrew folk tune,
and “Solla Sollew” from “Seussical the Musical” arranged by Andy Beck.
 
The Treble and Intermezzo Choirs will join together to perform “Shooting Star” by Andy Beck.
 
Elizabeth Ellis will direct the Intermezzo Choir as they perform “Swinging on a Star” arranged by Greg Gilpin, “Dreams of Sleeping Birds” by Amy F. Bernon, “Al Shlosha D’Varim” by Allan E. Naplan and “Old Dan Tucker,” an American Folk tune, arranged by Neil Ginsberg.
 
Under the direction of Jay Kellner, Chamber Choir will perform “The Lobster Quadrille,” from three choral settings from “Alice in Wonderland” by Irving Fine, with words by Lewis Carroll; ”SongBird” arranged by Roger Emerson; and “Plaisir D”Amour” arranged by Carl Strommen.
 
Mr. Kellner will also conduct the Concert Choir as they perform “All Things Bright and Beautiful” by John Rutter; “Stepping Stones” by Jay Elfenbein; “The Rainbow” by David N. Childs; “Hotaru Koi”, a Japanese children’s song, arranged by R? Ogura; and “Gloria,” from the “Heiligmesse” by Franz Joseph Haydn.
 
All of the choirs will perform the grand finale “Fill the World With A Song” by Allen Pote.
 
Tickets can be purchased at the ECC box Office located in the Visual and Performing Arts Center, 1700 Spartan Dr in Elgin, by phone 847-622-0300, or online at tickets.elgin.edu. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for Seniors, and $8 for Students. Special group rates are available.
