Through listening, creating, and performing, the Elgin Children’s Chorus provides opportunities to facilitate growth, musically, artistically, and emotionally.

The staff, both administrative, and music, generate an environment through which we enlighten, enrich and engage.

Excellence pervades all facets of our organization fostering a positive relationship with, and providing a unique impact on our world, ultimately increasing our understanding of each other.

Organizational History

The Elgin Children’s Chorus was co-founded by Jay Kellner and Kay Paulson in 1986 drawing membership from singers in District U46 schools. The Chorus debuted in 1986 with 15 choristers when the Elgin Choral Union needed children’s voices to perform Carmina Burana. (Read More)

Staff

The Chorus currently has three conductors (Jay Kellner, Elizabeth Ellis, and Lisa Bettcher), three accompanists (Edita Eppolito, Josefina Rusiana, and Reid Spears), a full-time executive director (Ann Kepley), and a part-time bookkeeper (Christine Propheter). (Read More)
